IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
WHAT TO BRING
Socks are required in The Scramble. While raincoats are available, children often get wet in Forces at Play and Sprouts. We recommend bringing an extra pair of shoes and a change of clothing.
Limited lockers are available on a first come, first served basis. Lockers require four quarters for each single-time use. Please bring quarters with you, as the museum does not have a change machine available.
QUIETER TIMES
Afternoons and evenings are generally not as busy as mornings. The museum does not book field trips on Tuesdays, so those can be good days to visit for a quieter experience. Also, the museum is currently not booking field trips on Fridays.
ELEVATOR WORK
There is currently extensive work happening on elevators throughout the building, with work continuing through the fall. Some of the elevators may be unavailable at times, so please be mindful of signs about any elevator closures. Once the work is completed, the museum’s elevators will be more reliable and efficient.
NEW EXPERIENCE IN OUR WORLD
The hardware store in Our World was recently converted into a brand new pet hospital and animal grooming center. The new experience is now open for visitors.
RESERVATIONS
Members do not need to make a reservation to visit during regular museum hours. However, all visitors, including members, need to make a reservation on Securian Financial Free First Sunday. Members also may need to reserve or buy tickets for special events.

The museum offers a series of members-only nights, when members can explore all their favorite exhibits after regular hours. Admission is free for members, but space is limited.
