IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
WHAT TO BRING
Socks are required in The Scramble. While raincoats are available, children often get wet in Forces at Play and Sprouts. The Backyard will feature a mud-making experience. We recommend bringing an extra pair of shoes and a change of clothing.
Limited lockers are available on a first come, first served basis. Lockers require four quarters for each single-time use. Please bring quarters with you, as the museum does not have a change machine available.
QUIETER TIMES
Afternoons and evenings are generally not as busy as mornings. The museum does not book field trips on Tuesdays, so those can be good days to visit for a quieter experience. Also, the museum is currently not booking field trips on Fridays.
ELEVATOR WORK
The museum is replacing three of our four elevators in the coming months. As the project is underway, it will involve closing one or more elevators at times. We will share details in upcoming member emails.
NEW EXPERIENCE IN OUR WORLD
The hardware store in Our World was recently converted into a brand new pet hospital and animal grooming center. The new experience is now open for visitors.
RESERVATIONS
Members do not need to make a reservation to visit during regular museum hours. However, all visitors, including members, need to make a reservation on Securian Financial Free First Sunday. Members also may need to reserve or buy tickets for special events.
EXTENDED FRIDAY HOURS
Beginning Monday, May 27, the museum will move to summer hours. This means the museum will be open seven days a week, including Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The museum offers a series of members-only nights, when members can explore all their favorite exhibits after regular hours. Admission is free for members, but space is limited.
