Why should I join now when you are closed?
By becoming a member now, you’re supporting us during a time of financial strain and helping to put us in the best position to re-open when the COVID-19 crisis passes. Plus, you’re securing 12 months of memorable family experiences in the museum once the we reopen.
How long does a membership last?

New memberships, including gift memberships, are valid 12 months.

Renewing members may extend their memberships by 12 months at any time.

When will my membership begin?
Your membership will begin when the museum re-opens.
When will I get a membership card?
When the museum re-opens. To make sure we’re including the most accurate expiration date on your card, we plan to wait to issue membership cards until the museum re-opens. Once we re-open, you will be able to visit the museum right away by checking in at the box office with an ID.
Can I purchase a membership for someone else as a gift?
Yes. You can absolutely buy a membership or renew a membership for someone else here. Since we won’t be issuing membership cards until we reopen, you can download and personalize our gift membership certificate to give in the meantime. I’m already a member. Will I get a full 12 months on my current membership?
Yes. If you’re a current member, your membership expiration date will be extended to make up for the time the museum is closed and guarantee you a full 12 months of membership. By renewing, you will add 12 more months of memorable family experiences in the museum on top of the extension you’re receiving to make up for the museum closure.
What is a flex member?

Flex members are additional unnamed members who get free admission to the same locations your membership covers.

  • A flex member can be someone you bring with you
  • It can also be a caregiver you send your children with to explore the museum
  • A named person on the membership, adult or child, must attend with a flex member
Can I bring a guest?

Members may bring up to 6 guests each visit and receive $2 off their admission at any location.

What about grandparent memberships?
All memberships can be purchased as a Grandparent Memberships which provide free admission for ALL grandchildren under the age of 18.

When purchasing the membership select “yes” when prompted “Is this a Grandparent Membership?”

A party at the museum is a great way to celebrate your child’s big day.

Foster Care Memberships

Minnesota Children’s Museum supports foster care families by providing a $30 discount on Passport or above memberships with proof of foster care status. A copy of your state–issued foster care license is required.

Corporate Discount Participants

Employees of current corporate contributors to the museum’s annual fund receive $10 off price of their membership.
