Museum Members Save on Summer Travel

We all know vacations can get expensive: Travel costs, hotels, restaurants and souvenirs. Even that high SPF sunblock adds up!

Here’s a money-saving hack for you: Use a Minnesota Children’s Museum membership to waltz into must-see family attractions for half-price or even free.

Members with the Household level and above get half-price admission to 200 children’s museums across the U.S. and Canada, via the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network.

Members with the Plus Perks level get the ACM benefit plus free admission to more than 350 museums, science and nature centers, planetariums and space centers, via the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program.

A little math shows the value of flashing your Minnesota Children’s Museum membership card when you’re out of town.

For example, a Household member family heading out west this summer can hit the Children’s Museum of Denver Marsico Campus for half price. Two adults and two kids would normally cost $72. Instead, they pay just $36.

The savings get even steeper with the coveted ASTC sticker on your membership card. A Plus Perks family of four vacationing in Chicago gets into the Field Museum free. That’s a savings of $96 – just about equal to the cost of the Plus Perks upgrade.

What’s more, you get all the other benefits of a Plus Perks membership: Six free parking passes, four museum tickets, four ice cream treats and a museum swag item! You can add Plus Perks to any membership at any time.

A note about the ASTC program for Plus Perks members: The free admission applies only to attractions that are 90 or more miles away from Minnesota Children’s Museum.

So hit the road knowing you’ll save big bucks while exploring fun and educational places wherever your travels take you this summer and beyond.
