Curious George™: Let’s Get Curious! Exhibit Open

Sept. 19, 2024 – The insatiable curiosity of Curious George – the little monkey who has captured the imagination and hearts of millions of children and adults for generations – comes to life Sept. 21 at Minnesota Children’s Museum. In Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!, visitors will climb into the imaginative world of Curious George and problem solve their way through pint-sized math, science and engineering adventures.

“Curious George is a beloved character who transcends generations,” said Dianne Krizan, president of Minnesota Children’s Museum. “We’re thrilled to bring this popular exhibit back to the museum, giving families another opportunity to learn through play while immersing themselves in the universe of the world’s most curious little monkey.”

Based on the familiar characters in H.A. and Margret Rey’s classic stories and inspired by the animated television series on PBS Kids, the exhibit ignites young children’s natural curiosity as they explore early STEM concepts through hands-on interactive play. In the exhibit, visitors will take part in activities modeled after Curious George’s own adventures including:

    • Constructing structures and moving materials at the construction site
    • Experimenting with physics and engineering in a round of mini golf
    • Using wind power to move whirligigs, windmills, windsocks and wind chimes
    • Sorting, weighing and counting fruit and vegetables at the produce stand
    • Creating light patterns and engaging in creative play in George’s apartment building
    • And more

Minnesota Children’s Museum developed and debuted Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! in 2007. Since then, it has become one of the most popular exhibits in the museum’s portfolio of traveling exhibits, which get rented by other museums around the country. The last time the exhibit was at Minnesota Children’s Museum was 2019.

Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! will be open at Minnesota Children’s Museum from Sept. 21 to Jan. 5, 2025. Admission to the special exhibit is included with general admission. Museum admission is $17 to $19 per person for ages 1 to 101. Museum members get in free. Tickets are available at https://mcm.org/tickets
