Parent and Caregiver Chaperone Guide

 

Help make your event safe and successful by following these rules.

Stay Together – Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

No Running – This helps keep everyone safe.

Be Respectful – Share, take turns and watch out for babies and toddlers.

Use the Map – It can help you find exhibits, restrooms and more.

Group Lunch – If your group has pre-arranged a lunch space, listen for announcements calling your group to the first floor.

Departure – If your group arrived on a bus, listen for announcements calling your group to the first floor for departure.

If You Need Help – Look for a visitor assistant in an orange shirt with the word “STAFF” on the back.

Exhibit Tips

The Scramble (climbing towers and slide)

    • The only way to enter and exit is on the first floor.
    • Shoes are not allowed. Socks are required.
    • Socks to borrow and return are in bins in storage cubbies outside The Scramble entrance.
    • Adults may wear shoes while walking on the floor and stairs alongside the climber. Adults must wear socks to climb and slide.
    • Only one person at a time on the large slide. No riding on laps.

Sprouts (infant/toddler gallery)

    • Sprouts is reserved for children ages 3 and under. Older children are allowed only with adult supervision and only if there is a child 3 or under in their group.

Messy Play
Kids might get messy or wet in some exhibits.

    • Forces at Play – Car wash and bubbles
    • The Backyard – Outdoor play
    • Sprouts – Water table
    • The Studio – Painting easels and art activities
