  • Sort packages at the post office and route them using a chute and conveyor belt
  • Wear an apron and tool belt, stock shelves and run the cash register at the Hardware store
  • Take orders at the counter, cook meals and deliver food at the food stand

Skills Kids Build

  • Creative Thinking → Immersing themselves imaginatively into the community
  • Critical Thinking → Seeing answers to questions that come up (“How do I move that box downstairs?”)
  • Communication → Sharing thoughts and ideas with others

How to Support Your Child

  • Encourage your child to try out new roles
  • Let your child’s story unfold naturally
  • Add a plot twist: “What would happen if…?”
  • Prompt storytelling: Find a call box and tell the firefighters what you need
