Busy Days Alert

The museum tends to be busy on weekend mornings during winter and spring. Holidays and days when schools are out can be busy, too.

This year, many school districts will be on spring break the weeks of March 27 and April 3, which means weekdays may be busier than other times. In May, the museum hosts more school field trips (Wednesday-Friday) than other months.

Please take note, too, that the first Sunday of each month is Securian Financial Free First Sunday. These events are often busy days. All visitors, including members, must make a reservation on free Sundays.

Quieter Times

Member families with flexibility should consider planning their visit to avoid busy times. On weekends, holidays and school-release days, afternoons tend to be quieter than mornings. The museum does not book field trips on Tuesdays, so those can be good days to visit for a quieter experience.

Extended Hours

The museum recently extended our hours. The museum is open Saturdays until 6 p.m. and Sundays until 5 p.m.

This summer, the museum plans to add Monday hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) There will be no field trips on Mondays.

Ticket Price Changes (Non-Members)

Starting March 4, the price of a general admission ticket purchased onsite on weekends will go up from $16 to $19. Tickets purchased onsite on weekdays will remain $16.

Members and any guests included in a membership (“guest add-ons”) will continue to enjoy FREE ADMISSION.

Important note about guests: Membership already includes a $2 per ticket discount for additional guests. If members bring guests on a weekend, the discount will be $5 per ticket ($14 cost per guest ticket).

General Visitor (Non-Member) Reservations

Anyone may purchase an advance ticket online for $15. Those who buy tickets online must choose the day and time of their visit.

PLEASE NOTE: Members and their guests DO NOT need to make a reservation to visit during regular museum hours. Members and their guests may visit at any time during regular hours.

Members-Only Events

The museum is offering a series of members-only nights, when members can explore all their favorite exhibits after regular hours.

Admission is free for members, but space is limited at these events. Reservations are required. The following dates are open for reservations:
