Journey Through Art Making with Dana Sikkila

Use organic and natural materials such as beeswax, sticks, clay and recycled paper to make sensory panels for our youngest visitors in Sprouts. Visitors of all ages will enjoy creating with Dana as part of the museum’s teaching artist series. Drop in The Studio to work with Dana and paint sticks, make clay beads, form hexagon hives by sewing paper.

About Dana Sikkila

Litchfield, MN native Dana Sikkila received her Master of Arts as well as her Non Profit Leadership Certificate from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Still based in Mankato, she concentrates on making art work and leading the 410 Project Art Gallery, a volunteer managed art space bring arts and arts programming to the Mankato community. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct professor at Minnesota State University Mankato. Dana’s art work combines printmaking, sculpture, and performance with an impressive anarchic sense of scale and playfulness. Her work has been viewed throughout Minnesota in places such as the Minnesota Museum of American Art Project Space, Macy’s, Hennepin Theatre Trust and University of Minnesota.
