Celebrate Eid with the Minnesota Children’s Museum in Rochester
Each year at the end of Ramadan, a day known as Eid, Muslim families around the world celebrate the breaking of their fast with a wonderful meal and a variety of playful activities.
Each of the Minnesota Children’s Museum locations is offering a special Eid celebration, including Rochester, while offering families a great opportunity to play. That’s why we’re reaching out to the many diverse communities in Minnesota to both welcome and invite families to play with us to celebrate Eid — and all year long.
The Eid celebration began July 6, 2016. On the weekend following Eid, the Rochester location will offer a reduced admission of buy one, get one admission for all visitors that mention Eid Mubarak.
“I am extremely delighted that our museum will offer programs and activities for families and children celebrating Eid,” said. Siyad A. Abdullahi, a member of the St. Paul location museum Board of Directors and CEO of The Language Banc, Inc.
“Many Muslim Minnesotans who have observed Ramadan will gather at the end of the Ramadan month to rejoice, and celebrate and enjoy all the festivities,” he said. “It is the most special time of the year for many kids from these families, and it is fantastic that the museum will be one of the places they come learn, and enjoy themselves!
Celebrating our Community
Our #PlayMoreMN movement encourages everyone to play and recognizes a diverse set of successful adults who play. We found that behind every successful person is a history and current practice of play.
Of course, we define success a little differently, too. It’s not just wealth or fame, but happiness, health, community involvement and an innovative, creative spirit. Successful people know play doesn’t have to stop just because you grow up.
